Key projects
Jordan has proven and projected reserves and resources totalling more than 100 billion barrels of oil. Jordan Energy and Mining has been awarded a licence areas at Al Lajjun. This deposit is located in a desert region with good access to infrastructure, including all-important water supplies.
Shale from Al Lajjun has excellent characteristics:
- Near the surface (<30m of waste covering around 30m of oil shale)
- High oil content (>10%)
- Low moisture levels (2-3%)
- Containing a high level of total organic material (>20%)
- Thick seam with consistent quality (~30m)
- A low stripping ratio (1:1)
