OIL UPGRADING WORK ENHANCES PROJECT ECONOMICS - FEBRUARY 2010
05 July 2010
The results of tests conducted by the international oil processing groups UOP and Lummus on shale oil produced in JEML's successful pilot plant runs make the Al Lajjun project economics even more attractive. They have shown that it is both technically and commercially viable to manufacture high grade synthetic crude oil (SCO) or, for a modest incremental cost, a range of finished products such as kerosene, diesel and gasoline, which can add some 20% to revenue. The test results give Jordan Energy & Mining the flexibility to bypass refineries and sell directly to the wholesale markets in Jordan and internationally if required.
