The King has followed a progressive development agenda since assuming the throne in 1999 and has made it his personal mission to pursue the development of alternative energy sources such as oil shale. He sees this as key to relieving the burden of the Jordanian economy and countering the effects of rising oil prices on the standard of living of the Jordanian people.
This welcome step enables Jordan Energy & Mining to begin work on the next major phase of the Al Lajjun project - additional fund raising and FEED (front-end engineering and design) process.
