World demand for oil is growing at a rate of almost one billion barrels per year. At the same time production is declining. This means global trends in energy supply and consumption are unsustainable. New sources of liquid hydrocarbons must be found.
Unlike crude oil, oil shale is in plentiful supply, with an estimated three trillion barrels of proven oil shale resources worldwide. That's more than double the world's recoverable crude oil supply.
Jordan has the fourth largest oil shale reserves in the world. Our operations in Jordan will help the Kingdom harness the potential of its oil shale deposits to meet its domestic energy needs.
